According to The Chronicle of Philanthropy, U.S. relief groups have collected more than $97 million in donations since a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti Tuesday – three times more than the amount raised in the three day period following the Indian Ocean tsunamis.
Apparently advancements in technology are making it easier to support various Haiti relief efforts. For example, the American Red Cross not only accepts donations online, but donors can text “HAITI” to 90999 from any mobile phone to donate $10 to the cause.
